My girls ...

Earlier this year I thought about getting a dog. I looked into everything ... breeds, breeders and pounds. I googled a lot, called my dad a lot, talked with family, looked at the local paper. I was ready to get a dog, why not. I talked with Ainsley and Greg (Aunt/Uncle) who have 2 Golden Retrievers and thought about getting an older dog from their breeder. Yeah lets buy a dog ... And then, I decided I don't have the lifestyle for a dog. I am busy. I work all day. I travel. I am never "home" on the weekends - its not fair to a dog or me. And really I like being comfortable, I like sleeping in on a Sunday, I love having a big bed to myself, I like a clean house and I like peace and quiet.

I made the decision in March "no dog for Leigha" and now, I am the owner of 2 dogs. Yes, not 1, but 2 dogs. Kaycie, Marty and the Littles (Aunt/Uncle/Cousins) were moving to London in August and they had 3 dogs, Dana and Steve (Aunt/Uncle) would take the good old dog, Oliver, and maybe they would have taken Millie, but no one wanted poor Sally. So I said sure ... why not, I'll take the 2 girls. The dogs are lazy, they sleep all day how hard can it be ... HA.
The girls on the 1st ride in Big Red to their new home.
Me and the girls have been together since August. They are not that lazy. Every night the girls go out side take care of business, get a treat and then I throw them in bed. It never fails sometime between 1a-3a one of them wants to go out, get a drink of water or just wander the house. ARRR. I have to get up at 5a, what are these girls doing.
So now my nights are filled with dogs snoring, puking in bed, peeing in bed and me being pushed off the bed because the girls want to snuggle. At 2am I try and remind myself how cute the girls are, that this is only temporary, and that of course I love my family.

Sally again looking so cute ... she enjoys the giant cage

Oh, those girls ...
Kaycie and Marty are only supposed to be gone for 3years, so that is only 156 more weeks or 1096 days. That is assuming the girls make it that long ...

Until then the girls will be apart of the adventure or maybe I am apart of their adventure ...

Pig in a Blanket

I finished this "camo" baby blanket last night for a guy on the crew. I am a bit disappointed that this doesn't look as "camo" as desired, but I must say the simple blanket turned out well. Bonus ... blanket is washable - Baby's mom will appreciate that!

I have one more simple baby blanket to finish knitting this weekend and then thinking of knitting a pair of socks, while thinking of another project to start. Maybe not even knitting, but crocheting. A friend of my up north (Ohio), Sharon, has been crocheting up a beautiful storm of baby booties, hairbands, toys, hats, etc. She whipped up this Little Ballerina Set for a friend of mine that just had their first baby.
(Yes all of my friends are having babies, so I am going to have start learning to make more baby things!)

Ready?

I have been toying with the idea of starting a blog for months now, and I am finally pursuing! Let our adventures begin ... Enjoy.
